It’s not the thinking, it’s the body experience

Gosh, I am on a plane traveling from Houston to Mexico. It’s way past my bedtime, and I am trying to put this blog together. It’s something I’ve been wanting to share for a while — how gong baths work.

Gong experiences are incredibly unique and diverse. People have all sorts of effects, at different levels (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual). So what I am explaining below is just one POV — but such a beautiful one.

Look at the picture in the post: people receiving a gong bath, listening to the gong being played. And more importantly, they are feeling the vibes with their bodies.

The magic is this: whilst our mind is trying (and failing) to make sense of the sounds it hears, our body — not trying, just feeling vibrations that lower brain waves, and that our cells align and vibrate with (producing many positive cellular changes).

The gong produces sound waves, and when they crash with each other, they produce vibrations that are inaudible — extremely low frequency (ELF) vibrations below 15Hz, which we humans are not able to hear.

These inaudible vibrations speak directly to our body, and they produce the biggest relaxing and healing effect. Interestingly, whilst people focus on the sound, it is not really the sound that heals or relaxes in a gong bath.

To wrap up (as I am about to land): the magic is not in the thinking mind. The magic works at the whole-body level. And maybe I shouldn’t even call it magic, because it can be explained. But to me, a gong will always have that mystical element that does not need explanations — it just needs to be felt.

I feel privileged to be able to share this.

Thank you to the people who come to the sessions and make this possible. You make my day, my week, my year. 💛
